What is Literacy?
Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak and listen in a way that lets us communicate effectively and make sense of the world. Literacy involves students having the ability to interpret and understand content from various context.

Objectives:
Students will be able to: build comprehension, writing skills and skills in communication. Reading Comprehension Goals: Students will read to become a confident reader and develop critical thinking skills. Students will read to activate and reinforce other skills like grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and writing. Speaking Goal: As a public speaker, students have 3 goals when delivering a speech: to inform, to convince, and to persuade his/her audience with a new information or new perspective which can promote the speaker's confidence and create new opportunities. Writing Goal: Students will develop written expression of thought and explore ideas to build connections between content areas. |
